The mental health side of menopause.
A clinical library for the part of this transition that most appointments still skip , the anxiety, the identity shifts, the grief, the old patterns surfacing, and the season when something deeper than hormones finally asks to be heard. Wander as you like.
CURATED BY ANNIE WRIGHT, LMFT · UPDATED JUNE 2026
The medical conversation about menopause has improved dramatically. We’re finally talking about hormones, HRT, sleep, bone density, brain fog, and the real biological shifts of this transition. That progress matters.
And , there’s a second conversation that still gets left out of most appointments. It’s the conversation about what’s actually happening underneath the symptoms. The anxiety that wasn’t there before. The grief that surfaces without warning. The relationships that suddenly feel harder. The old patterns and old wounds that resurface after years of being held at bay by sheer momentum.
This is the mental health layer underneath menopause. And it’s what this library is about.
I’m Annie Wright , a licensed psychotherapist with more than 15,000 clinical hours, forthcoming author of The Everything Years (W. W. Norton, 2027), and someone who’s spent the last several years writing extensively about this season. What follows is a curated entry point into that body of work, organized so you can find what’s actually relevant to where you are. If you only read three pieces, start with the cornerstone collection. If you have time to go deeper, follow the threads that resonate.

Driven and driven women navigating perimenopause inside demanding careers , physicians, executives, founders, law partners, professors, traders, consultants.
Marriage, divorce, sex, friendship, sandwich-generation caregiving, parenting teenagers , the relational landscape of midlife and how this transition shapes it.
